Why, hello there...

I’ve decided to start a family blog. Why, you ask? I have no clue. Most likely, sheer boredom.

Well, here’s a little bit about our family.

Leland, the husband/father, is 23 years old, very handsome, super smart and the luckiest man on Earth. Hehe, just kidding. He’s very much into cars and photography. He’ll be going back to school soon to pursue a degree, most likely in film. He’s mechanically inclined and definitely the handy man around the house.

Rebecca (me), aka Becky, the wife/mama, is 22 years old, and is definitely the luckiest girl on Earth. Not kidding. I love cooking and baking, especially for friends and family. I am currently going to UNLV for accounting and history. When will I graduate…probably not before the world ends in 2012.

Alistair, the munchkin/son, is 3 years old, the most adorable little boy on the planet and definitely got his smarts from Becky. Again, kidding. Alistair is Leland’s biological son and Becky’s stepson. He loves cars, swords and riding his bike.

Sunny, Kahlan, and Bailey, Fat Cat, Evil Cat, and Dog, respectively. Sunny is about 20 pounds, lazy and definitely a daddy’s boy. Kahlan is a runt, hyperactive and has a fierce rivalry with Bailey. Also, she is definitely a Mama’s girl. Bailey, the newest addition, is some mix of pitbull, beagle, jack russel terrier and some sort of pointer hound (and who knows what else). She’s still a puppy and has her destructive, puppy-like tendencies. She really wants to get to know Kahlan, but usually ends up with a scratched up snout when she gets too close. Also, she’s not a very quick learner, as she did not learn her lesson after the first time.

Finally, there’s Obie. He’s a rat. He’s named after our President. Do with that what you will…

We recently bought a house in December of last year. It’s perfect for us, with a nice size kitchen and a kitchen island, which I recently discovered is perfect for making bread. My next short term goal: To make the perfect pancake. I know, that should be like cooking 101, and I can make pancakes that Leland and Ali will gobble up, but having your hubby and little boy finish off pancakes isn’t exactly the hardest thing in the world. I also want to plant a garden. Once upon a time, there was a garden in the backyard. And then we got Bailey, and the garden was no more.

That’s a brief little insight to the Learn household. Our lives really aren’t that interesting, hehe, but I tend to get bored, so I’ll update soon.

Lots of love,

The Learns!
